Multi axle trailer, also known as modular trailer, hydraulic modular trailer. The internationally famous multi axle trailer manufacturers are: SCHEUERLE (Germany), NICOLAS (France), COMETTO,cometto multi axle trailer (Italy), GOLDHOFER ,goldhofer multi axle trailer(Germany). The famous international using companies (large transport companies) are: MAMMOET (Netherlands), ALE (UK), Fagioli (Italy), SARENS (Belgium).
1. The multi axle trailer specifications
1) Main beam: welded into an I-shape with high-strength steel, and the lower part of the main beam at both ends of the module is provided with connecting lugs.
2) Auxiliary beam: welded with high-strength steel, and the main beam forms the bearing structure frame of the multi axle trailer
3) cross Beam: connect the main beam and the auxiliary beam.
4) Diagonal support: support the main beam and auxiliary beam.
5) End beam: steering end beam, connecting end beam and holding beam.
6) Suspension system: supported on the sub-beam, playing the role of supporting and connecting the axle. The suspension system includes a running system.
7) Steering system: transfer steering force through tie rod system.
8) Hydraulic system: provide and transmit hydraulic power for suspension and steering.
9) Braking system: including service brake and parking brake, which is composed of air circuit, control system and actuator.

2. Suspension system
2.1 Composition of the suspension system
1) Suspension pivot: fixed on the hydraulic multi axle trailer auxiliary beam with bolts.
2) Suspension arm: The shaft seat hole is installed between the suspension arm and the pivot, so that the suspension arm rotates to achieve steering under the drive of the steering tie rod.
3) Suspension fork: connect the suspension arm and the axle.
4) swing axle: connect the wheels.
5) Suspension cylinder: connect the suspension arm and the suspension fork, play a supporting role, and adjust the height of the platform.
6) Wheels: including wheels, brake hubs, brake shoes and tires.
3. Steering system
3.1 The steering system is mainly composed of steering pivot, steering hydraulic cylinder, steering longitudinal tie rod, steering cross tie rod, intermediate shaft, steering control panel, suspension and other components.
3.2.1 Transmission of automatic steering
Traction rod → steering pivot→ front half longitudinal tie rod→ control disc → transverse tie rod → suspension → wheels.
Front steering cylinders → steering circuits→ rear steering cylinders→ rear end beam pivots→ rear half longitudinal tie rods→ rear half steering control discs→ rear half tie rods→ rear half suspension → wheels.
3.2.2 Transmission of force steering
Front half steering transmission: hydraulic power → front end beam control valve→ front end beam steering cylinder has a rod cavity→ front steering cylinder→ front steering pivot→ front longitudinal tie rod→ front steering control disk→ front cross tie rod→ front suspension arm → wheel steering.
Rear half steering transmission: hydraulic power → front end beam control valve→ front end beam steering cylinder has a rod cavity→ front steering cylinder → hydraulic circuit→ rear end beam steering cylinder→ rear end beam pivot→ rear longitudinal tie rod→ rear steering control panel→ rear cross tie rod→ rear suspension arm → rear wheel steering.
3.3 Steering control mode
3.3.1 Automatic steering
Automatic steering is driven by the tractor, and the front part of the multi axle trailer is transmitted by the tie rod (mechanical transmission). The hydraulic cylinder of the rear half by the front and rear steering control box is transmitted through the hydraulic circuit
3.3.2 force steering
The force steering can be controlled by the front control box or the rear control box respectively. Steer the steering control valve handles on the front and rear control boxes to steer. When used under special conditions, it can also be controlled at the same time, but the front and rear operation should be coordinated
4.1 Characteristics of the goose neck
The power goose neck is a connecting device for the multi axle trailer and the truck to form a semi-trailer multi axle trailer. The multi axle trailer obtains the advantages of a semi-trailer, and the power gooseneck has its own characteristics.
4.1.1 Advantages: The load of the modular trailer can be divided into the saddle of the prime mover (fifth-wheel load), and the puller counterweight is not required. The driving trailer swings less, which can increase the speed.
4.1.2 Features: With hydraulic cylinder, it can realize the change of load pressed on the fifth wheel. With steering, it can realize automatic steering driven by the tractor and hydraulic power control steering.
4.1.3 Limitations: The multi axle trailer not be too much (20 axles max), which affects the adhesion of the tractor.
4.2 gooseneck structure
The power gooseneck is composed of king pin, turntables, cylinders, steering cylinders, steering adjustment cylinders, gooseneck support cylinders, accumulators, outriggers, connecting beams, control components, etc.
4.3 Gooseneck loading
The load of the gooseneck on the fifth wheel is determined by the working pressure of the cylinder and the position of the mounting hole. The working pressure of the cylinder is determined by the weight of the load, the loading position and the marshalling of the fulcrum.
4.4 Gooseneck steering transmission
4.4.1 Gooseneck automatic steering transmission When the gooseneck automatic steering is driven by the prime mover to rotate, the turntable transmits the steering to the steering power cylinder, the power cylinder acts, the hydraulic oil with rod cavity of the power cylinder enters the steering adjustment cylinder with rod cavity, pushes the steering adjustment cylinder action, drives the steering longitudinal tie rod of the front half of the multi axle trailer, the longitudinal tie rod drives the steering control panel, and then drives the steering cross tie rod, drives the suspension arm and the wheel to realize the steering of the front half of the multi axle trailer. The steering of the rear half of the multi axle trailer outputs the hydraulic signal by the cylinder, is transmitted to the steering cylinder through the hydraulic pipeline, the rear steering cylinder drives the rear end beam to turn to the pivot shaft, the pivot drives the steering longitudinal tie rod action of the rear half of the car, the longitudinal tie rod drives the steering control panel action of the rear half of the multi axle trailer, the steering control panel drives the transverse tie rod, and then drives the suspension arm and the wheel of the rear half of the modular trailer to realize the steering of the rear half of the modular trailer.
4.4.2 Gooseneck front automatic steering and rear control steering
Gooseneck control steering can realize the front half of the modular trailer driven by the prime mover automatic steering, and the second half of the multi axle trailer is controlled by the operator by hydraulic power. When steering, the valve of the cylinder and the circuit of the rear beam steering cylinder is opened, so that the two closed circuits are connected. The cylinder and the rear steering cylinder operate independently. The front half of the multi axle trailer is driven by the puller to steer, and the rear half of the multi axle trailer is operated by the operator after the steering control valve, and the oil inlet of the rod cavity of the rear steering cylinder is controlled, and the rear half of the multi axle trailer is driven to realize the control steering.
4.4.3 Front and rear control steering
The front and rear are respectively controlled by the operator to achieve hydraulic power control steering. The front half of the multi axle trailer steering control, the power cylinder has a rod cavity and the adjusting cylinder has a rod cavity circuit valve opens, the two circuits are connected, and the power cylinder and the adjusting cylinder act independently. The operator operates the steering control valve on the gooseneck to push the steering adjustment cylinder action to control the steering of the front half of the modular trailer. The rear half of the modular trailer steering control, the power cylinder and the rear end beam steering cylinder circuit isolation valve opened, the two circuits are connected, the power cylinder and the rear steering cylinder act independently, the operator manipulates the rear end beam steering control valve, the hydraulic power pushes the rear steering cylinder with a rod cavity, and the rear steering cylinder acts, and realizes the rear half of the car control steering.
